G W Lennox Paterson ARE

George William Lennox Patterson ARE (1915 – 1986) studied at Glasgow School of Art. After graduating he became a lecturer in graphic design and eventually Deputy Director of the School. He illustrated books, for example in 1950 , Michael Fairless’ “The Roadmender” which includes twenty-seven wood engravings .

He was also known for hand coloured lino prints and posters notably for the Clyde Shipping
