Archibald Kay 1860-1935 

Archibald Kay was born in Glasgow but his family were from Caithness. He studied at the Glasgow School of Art and in Paris. He painted in oil and watercolour in a direct and vigorous style. His first and early recogition was when he as elected a member of the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour in 1892.

A friend of George Houston RSA, he was well known in art circles. He painted a good deal on the continent and the west coast of Scotland.
